If you have been out with friends, or even drinking alone, it is not always easy to tell how intoxicated you are. You may get behind the wheel of your car without realizing that you are too drunk to drive. This can end with something as simple as getting pulled over to something tragic like a deadly accident.

Man goes on apparent hit-and-run rampage with stolen car

A man has been taken into police custody after a dramatic incident in which he has been accused of stealing a car and using it to run multiple pedestrians down. The spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety stated their belief that he deliberately targeted pedestrians, but they have not yet speculated as to what his motives may have been. Two of the people that were hit have died, and another two have been taken to hospitals in San Antonio for treatment.

Motorcycle accident in Texas kills 1, injures 2

San Antonio police suspect that excessive speed was a factor that contributed to a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle on May 1. The motorcycle driver was killed and two occupants of the car were seriously injured in the crash, police said. The fatal accident took place along the 2500 block of East Southcross Boulevard at approximately 10:45 p.m.

Alleged drunk driver rear-ends SUV in Texas, killing woman

At 1 a.m. on April 27, police received a 911 call and found a crash scene with an upside down Mitsubishi SUV containing four people. The SUV had flipped over following being rear-ended by a pickup truck traveling at high-speed on Texas 105, causing the SUV's frame to break and the outer door skin to be popped off. One 54-year-old female passenger from Conroe suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The remaining occupants of the SUV, including her two teenage grandchildren and their 65-year-old grandfather, were treated and released later from the local hospital.

Intoxication may have lead to crash that left 1 driver dead

A Texas man was charged with intoxication manslaughter after allegedly causing a car accident that left one person dead. The head-on collision happened in Conroe on FM 3083 on March 22 when the 34-year-old man was driving a Ford Freestar van and heading westbound at 7:53 a.m. Witnesses say that he veered across the centerline and struck an eastbound Ford Focus. According to the Conroe Police Department, the driver of the Focus attempted to stop and veer to the outside of her lane, but the front left side of the van still hit the front left side of her car.

Wrongful death case against trucking company and driver dismissed

Family members of a Texas couple who were killed in a major traffic accident on I-10 have ended their lawsuit against a trucking company and truck driver. The fatal accident happened on Thanksgiving Day 2012 and involved more than 100 vehicles.
